ABOUT NYUMBANI AFRICAN DELICACIES

Guided by Passion. Managed with Precision.

The dynamic partnership bringing African fusion to Manitoba.

“I started helping my mother cook as a child, feeling proud when people enjoyed my food. Today, I cook for people from all walks of life, transforming their day with a single meal.”

– Lydia Kwamboka –

Nyumbani African Delicacies was born in 2020 from a shared vision: to bridge the gap between authentic East African home cooking and high-standard Canadian catering.

What started as a passion project has grown into Winnipeg’s go-to source for fusion cuisine. We believe that catering should be more than just food delivery; it should be a cultural experience. Whether we are serving a simple office lunch or a 500-guest wedding, our promise remains the same: deep, authentic flavors served with Red-Seal precision and care.

The Heart of the Kitchen.

Lydia Kwamboka isn't just a cook; she's a culinary professional on her way to Red Seal certification.
With experience in kitchens from Dubai to Canada, Lydia brings global standards to traditional recipes.

The Soul of the Operation

Great catering requires more than great food—it requires perfect timing. Co-founder Caroline Atuya brings her background as a Project Manager (PMP) to Nyumbani. She ensures that while the food tastes like home, the service runs like a well-oiled machine.

What does Nyumbani mean?

In Swahili, Nyumbani means “Home.” Whether you are Canadian-born exploring new tastes or an African expat missing the flavors of the continent, our goal is the same: to make you feel at home the moment you take a bite.
